Gulf Shores is the most interesting new airport out of this announcement. If it works well, I could very easily see them add IND/CMH/ maybe even FWA-GUF as Gulf Shores is really popular in the Midwest.
DEN-IDA/SCK is really odd. Currently UA serves DEN-IDA about 4x daily (1x CRJ, 3x CR7), but Allegiant trying these makes it seem more likely that they go after all kinds of DEN-secondary cities around the Mountain West type markets that are currently UA monopolies. I wonder what the draw is to IDA in particular. SCK I’ve barely even heard of. G4 flies SCK-LAS/PHX, but it seems like an odd secondary airport/alternative to SMF without too big of its own market. We’ll see.
